Amond Coaching Inaugural Badminton Tournament

Amond Coaching is proud to announce it's inaugural badminton tournament on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of October. The tournament will consist of:

  • U15 and U17 Boys Singles and Doubles 

  • U15 and U17  Girl's Singles and Doubles 

  • U15 and U17 Mixed Doubles.

The venue for this event will be Old Leighlin Community Hall. 


This tournament is being run on the new Badminton Ireland age groupings of U15 (DoB 2004 or after) and U17 (DoB 2002 or after) and is open to all players who are affiliated to Badminton Ireland but have not represented their respective Provinces before.  


The Tournament will be run on a Round Robin basis and is strictly limited to 10 participants per event. Each event will have 2 groups of 5 individuals/pairs and group stages will see each individual/pair play 4 matches, round robin style. Matches are 2 sets to 21 with no setting (draws can occur and games can finish 21-20). Players receive a point per set and players who top their respective groups will play off against each other in the final which will be a 'Full Match' (best of 3 sets to 21 with setting) to determine the winner of each event.

  • €15 per person per event

  • Entries can be e-mailed to (must include DoB of each participant)

  • Deadline for entries is Monday 16th of October 2017.    

  • Participants are asked to check in at match control 15-20 mins before event is scheduled.
